I attended college at Coastal Carolina University, where I graduated Cum Laude in 2001 majoring in political science. In 2005, I graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

I started my career working with the Horry County Public Defender's Office, where I worked for approximately seven years as an assistant public defender prior to starting my own practice. Over the course of my career, I have represented thousands of clients charged with various offenses. Some with major felonies such as burglary or armed robbery and others charged with only minor misdemeanor offenses like shoplifting. I represent juvenile offenders as well as adult offenders and have obtained many years of trial experience along the way.

Regardless of the charge, my first priority is to listen to a client's side of the story. Many times, a person charged with a crime is never given the opportunity to tell their side of what happened and I know how frustrating that can be. I want to make myself aware of all the facts before I determine the best course of action to take...and the first step in doing this is to listen.

My practice is unique because my approach is different. I represent each client zealously, but I do so with compassion and understanding. I recognize that for most clients the experience that brings them to me is a devastating, traumatic, and heartbreaking one. Whether it is an arrest or the breakup of their marriage, the event is extremely emotional and must be handled with care. Therefore, my role is first one of counselor and then advocate. So if you are looking for an experienced attorney that is also compassionate, understanding, and driven...your search stops here.
